Our Good Samaritan Ministry, or “Good Sam,” provides food assistance for people living in Stanislaus County. The name comes from Luke 10:25-37, where Jesus teaches what it means to “love your neighbor as yourself.” In this biblical parable, a traveling Samaritan saw a man in great need and he showed him compassion. This Good Samaritan cared for the man and met his practical needs.
Appointments are scheduled 9:30AM-2:30PM, Mon-Thur. Our Good Sam building is located on the Big Valley Grace Modesto Campus behind the rear east parking lot.
We care deeply about the members of our community and would like to help you and your family in your time of need. Big Valley Grace offers funeral and memorial services on our Modesto campus for our members and active attenders of record.
This is BVG’s newest REACH Ministry. We will be helping refugee and other vulnerable families with a home and hope. Currently we are collecting household items and other necessities for families who have fled Afghanistan and Ukraine and are being resettled in Modesto. An average of one family per day is being settled in our community. The need is massive, and our help and influence is desperately needed.
Donations can be delivered during the Weekend Gatherings or during Modesto Church Office hours, Mon-Thurs 9am-5pm.
See the link below for donation needs and updates.
